Slight Change of Plans

The best laid plans will go awry... or so we have discovered.

So Scott's and my original plan, which was to leave for our road trip (alone) tomorrow morning, has since been altered ever so slightly. Our dog Bode was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and, until this past weekend, we were managing it without a hitch. However, when we left Bode with Scott's parents in Lexington it stressed him out to the point where he was having major seizures again and unable to sleep. Although it did lead to a lovely all night rescue mission to Lexington, everything is fine and Bode seems to be doing great now that he is back in Raleigh. Long story short, we have now changed our road trip plans to travel with dogs in-tow! While it will make it harder to do some things in the cities and national parks, and mean that we're now going to spend less time camping and more time scouring cities for hotels that are both affordable and pet friendly (thank you La Quinta and Motel 6!), Scott and I both feel far more comfortable knowing that our furry family can enjoy the next few weeks as much as we will. Check back later this week for (hopefully) our first post from the road.

Our dogs, Bode and Zoe.
